Dan is a consummate professional, the design request for Wisdom of a Fool was high on demand and Dan worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was covered and that the end result was to the highest standard. He is a joy to collaborate with, always open to ideas and requests and offers solutions where possible problems could arise. The one man play required over 150 sound cues which where integral to the story telling and atmosphere of the piece, Dan's design achieved all this and more.

We had quite a complex microphone plot for our production, together with an extensive requirement for sound effects, all of which was delivered perfectly at every performance. I watched the production from the Sound desk every night of the run and it was great to hear comments from the audience that it was best sound they had heard at the Harlequin - ever. I would not hesitate to work with him again.

Dan's work for Jack & the Beanstalk provided a well balanced, clear and crisp mix of all vocals against the live musicians throughout the shows. His excellent live mixing ability was supported by a number of soundscapes and effects which he created to enhance the atmosphere of the show. The giant was given the required majesty through the comprehensive effects added in post production and the depth which Dan was able to add to the performance ensured a good impact for the audience every time.

I was extremely lucky to have Dan Barnes as one of the major pillars of 'wizardry' holding my show together. As I didn't have a live band I needed to create a story using sound effects and lighting. Dan created a soundscape which heard me arrive at the venue in a car then followed by sound affects of stilleto heels walking to the stage. It worked and set the stage for me to take over and deliver a pulse raising performance. The quality of the sound was amazing and I now always request Dan!

As No Jacket Required, a Phil Collins/Genesis tribute, we hired Dan to do the sound for a series of 'Unplugged' shows, featuring acoustic instruments. This created a series of audio challenges which Dan dealt with in his usual calm, methodical manner, and audience comments afterwards were testament to how well he had managed the mix. We cannot wait to work with him again, so we have booked him for all our theatre shows with a full 14 piece band!
